Glacier Hills County Park (Friess Lake)

Self-Serve Kayak, Paddleboard, & Canoe Rentals are available daily 7am to Dark

Enjoy a break on two lakes and a river! This unique experience is great for all ages. Your adventure begins on “Big” Friess Lake. Motorized boats and jet skiers are often active here during the day, so paddling near the shoreline is a best practice. If you head east along the south shoreline, you will find a channel that leads to Little Friess Lake. Few boats roam here, and you can often enjoy a calm paddle throughout. You can access a shallow stretch of the Oconomowoc River from Little Friess and, water-level permitting, go on a secluded journey. Enjoy beautiful views and keep an eye out for wildlife. There are great opportunities for pictures and fishing throughout! Fish include Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, and Walleye. Big” Friess DNR Site Little Friess DNR Site (a portion of proceeds benefit Washington County Parks)

Please note: You will need either a Washington County Park Sticker ($30) or Daily Pass ($5) to enter).
